Catapult Foundation Recap

Updated: Jul 19, 2022

The Catapult Foundation has had another great last 12 months raising funds for South Australian charities in need.

As we’re approaching the end of the financial year, we reflect on what is important to us and one of those things is supporting local charities and the community.

Read our journey below!

August 2021

On Friday the 6th of August, volunteers from the Catapult Foundation walked together for Hutt St Centre's Walk a Mile in My Boots to raise funds for people experiencing homelessness in South Australia.

As a team, we raised $2901 for the Hutt St Centre so they can provide a hearty meal, a hot shower and other services all in a safe, welcoming place. Here's a snap of our walkers.

September 2021

Tony Catt completed the Epic Impact Bike Challenge for the 6th and final year in a row! The team raised over $110k for the Operation Flinders Foundation.

The Operation Flinders Foundation Epic Impact Bike Challenge is a journey over 700km from Adelaide to Yankaninna Station with all funds raised goes towards the Operation Flinders Foundation, which helps South Australian youth at risk.

October 2021

In October, we had two Catapult Foundation representatives visit the Operation Flinders Foundation whilst their program was running in the northern Flinders Ranges. The team members had an interesting visit and were able to gain an appreciation of how their program works for youth at risk.

November 2021 - Variety Melbourne Cup Luncheon

For the past few years, The Catapult Foundation has attended the annual Variety SA Melbourne Cup Luncheon as part of our sponsorship. A fantastic day of racing, fine dining and fun, while at the same time giving kids in South Australia a fair go.

Variety SA raises funds to support kids and families who are facing many challenges through sickness, disadvantage or living with special needs.

November 2021 - Future Generations Fund

Catapult Wealth hosted a webinar for their clients who are shareholders of a Future Generation Fund (FGG or FGX) to learn from Fund Manager Geoff Wilson & CEO Caroline Gurney about the investments within the fund.

Future Generation Australia focuses on charities that support children and youth at risk. As part of an arrangement with the Fund Manager, 1% of the management fee is donated to our chosen charity, Operation Flinders Foundation.

We presented a cheque for the donation of $𝟔𝟑,𝟓𝟐𝟗.𝟕𝟗 to the Operation Flinders Foundation.

November 2021 - Operation Flinders Presentation

A very impactful post-exercise presentation in more ways than one was recently held for the team from Marryatville High School. The Premier the Hon. Steven Marshall MP, a very committed supporter of Operation Flinders, attended and assisted in the presentation of certificates, after which each student provided a very moving account of how the program had impacted them.

It was such an honour to hear Marryatville High School share their stories and experiences about conquering the 8-day Operation Flinders Foundation hike.

December 2021 - Catherine House Christmas

In December, we are asked our network for donations for their Christmas gift bags. Christmas can bring out many emotions for women at Catherine House - Support for Women Experiencing Homelessness. The vulnerability of homelessness, along with the breakdown of relationships and jobs can make life feel out of control. The festive season is a wonderful time to step back and appreciate what we have in our lives and show thanks by helping those who are less fortunate.

March 2022

Early this year we had our second 'Not Another' Golf Day at the Kooyonga Golf Club. We are proud to announce that we raised and donated $60K, split equally between Variety South Australia and Breakthrough Mental Health Research Foundation.

We are grateful for the support we received and the generosity of those who attended on the day. Together we have been able to contribute significantly to two very deserving causes.

Your donation will be the catalyst for the next big research breakthrough and make a real difference in the lives of the children and families we support.

June 2022 - Larapinta Trek Quiz Night

Almost every person has in some way, directly or indirectly, been impacted by Mental Health challenges. It may be yourself, a family member, a friend, a co-worker or a teammate that has been impacted. Unfortunately, we still don’t know enough about the causes or the effective management and treatment to help people live lives free of the challenges.

Andrew Mattner and the Catapult Foundation hosted a Quiz Night on Friday the 3rd of June at the Clarence Park Community Centre. The Quiz Night was to support Andrew's fundraising efforts for Breakthrough Mental Health Research Foundation by completing the Larapinta Trek.

The night was a huge success, with a total of $3,300 raised!

June 2022 - Catherine House 'Out in the Paddock' Gala Dinner

As part of our annual sponsorship, we had some representatives attend Catherine House's 'Out in the Paddock' Gala Dinner. Crisis support centre, Catherine House raised $237,000 at their annual black-tie event. Curated by Out in the Paddock, the event raised vital funds to support women experiencing homelessness.

The proceeds will allow Catherine House to provide two and a half months of safety and support for 20 women who will bravely walk through the doors of the crisis accommodation service.

For many people, life isn’t an easy journey. The Catapult Foundation aims to help charities that make a difference in the lives of South Australians in need. A massive thank you to everyone who donated to the Catapult Foundation this year. We really appreciate the support!
